June 5, 1911 was Dedication Day. They had no organ
and used planks to sit on. (On special occasions Valentine
Kulak would haul his organ to the church.) On July 30,
1911, the first Missionfest was held. Vicar Henry Elling
served St. John's for two years.
The first wedding in the church was that of Mr. and
Mrs. John Eichenlaub on July 25, 1911. The first
wedding in the district was that of Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Enders on November 23, 1910.
The first baptism was of Maria Goerz, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Karl Goerz, on February 27, 1910.
The first burials on February 24 and 27, 1911, were of
the young sons of Karl Schramm who passed away from
scarlet fever.

members, a new building was constructed.

On December 17, 1910, nine men met the Pastor Emil
Eberhart at the home of John Altheim to discuss the
establishment of a congregation in the Blueberry School
District. Present were John Altheim, K. Philip Baron,
Henry M. Enders, Michael Enders, Jacob Goerz, Karl
Goerz, Valentine Hennig, Peter Schoepp and Karl
Schram.
Jacob Goerz offered two acres of land on the southwest
corner of his land for a church, and the offer was
gratefully accepted. Each member was to donate 1,000
feet of lumber by spring. The size of the church was set at
20 by 30 by 12 feet high. Mr. Konrad Glamn from Stony
Plain was hired as a carpenter, and with the help of the
members, the church was erected for a cost of $164.00.
